I am a PhD candidate at the City University of New York, Graduate Center in the Department of Art History. My area of research focuses on 19th and 20th century modernist movements across painting, photography, design, and architecture. My dissertation, “Intermedial Sachlichkeit: Intersections between Painting, Photography, Design, and Architecture in Germany, 1918–33,” explores key moments of exchange, collaboration, and dissonance between artists, designers, and architects in order to establish a refined theory of Sachlichkeit during the Weimar Republic. Before coming to Cornish, I taught at Brooklyn College and led pedagogical workshops focused on creating a student-centered, liberatory teaching practice at the CUNY Graduate Center's Teaching & Learning Center.
