A career in music starts here

As you earn your Bachelor of Music degree at Cornish College of the Arts, you focus on composition, instrumental performance or vocal performance, with concentrations in jazz or classical music performance, opera-musical theater, performance-composition, electro-acoustic music, and world music.

Individualized instruction is at the center of your education, while coursework develops your musicianship skills and knowledge of music history. Complementing the music curriculum is a broad range of classes in the humanities and sciences that enables you to see your work in context: within the history of music, within the broader world of artistic endeavor, and within the world at large.

In our small classes, faculty members encourage risk while guiding you in developing critical technical and intellectual skills. Our innovative curriculum fosters exploration and experimentation, and gives you the practical foundation you need to enter the professional musical world.
