Older materials related to the history of Cornish College of the Arts are deposited with the University of Washington Libraries - Special Collections. The archives include: institutional records; photographs; correspondence; and miscellaneous documents from the school's founding in 1914 through the 1980's. This agreement was established with the U.W. Libraries in 1977 to provide preservation for Cornish's older institutional and historic documents.

Cornish does not maintain a formal archives on campus. From 1988 to the present, each departent has maintainted its own institutional records. The Office of the President has a small collection of Cornish publications, photographs, miscellaneous documents and ephemera. The Library has some older material, related to the dance and music departments, in storage.
