In 2008, Kaz (Powerful Power) gave over 150 performances, released a self-titled album on the Slender Means Society and Aagoo labels, an EP on Catbird Records, and a 7-inch record on Journal of Popular Noise.

Kaz, billing himself as PWRFL Power, released his self-titled full-length debut on Portland's Slender Means Society label in March 2008, and appeared in the Stranger's "The Young Ones: Eight Bands to Watch in 2008." Esurance also featured an animated version of Kaz and one of his songs, "It's OK," in a new commercial out that same month.Greg Ruby (MU ‘03)
The Solomon Douglas Swingtet, a 10-piece, Vancouver, BC, dance band, recently completed its newest CD of big band favorites from the 20s to the 50s. Featuring Greg as a guest guitarist, the exciting album was recorded live in April 2008 in front in front of a dancing audience.Chris Blacker (MU ‘04)
In April 2008, Chris released his first full length album, Out of Chaos, featuring eight original compositions, ranging from orchestral drama to driving jazz/rock, and includes his ASCAP award-winning composition, "Tidal." Joining Chris on the album are fellow Cornish alumni Charlie Smith (MU '02), Cody Rahn (MU '04), and Jakob Breitbach (MU '03), as well as Cornish Music faculty member Hans Teuber.Evan Gackstatter (MU ‘07)
Dr. G and the Funky Recovery, with Music alumni Evan, Tim Carey (MU '06), Makala Romero (MU '07), Bridgid Roney (MU '08), and former Cornish Music student Daniel Thomson, competed in the FameCast competition, which culminates in a battle of the bands in Austin, TX, and a record deal.
